Whether sifting through sand, or scrambling over a rocky shore, it's about finding treasures in every day.

Northern Flicker

This pretty Northern flicker landed on the rail of the boat.  It has moss stuck to its beak. Well, it is a woodpecker, and it often forages on the ground, so I could see where there might be tree pitch gluing that moss on.

Northern Flicker

This flicker really wants to clean its beak. Why does this remind me of holding a toddler with a runny nose?

Wipe, wipe, wipe...

Wipe, wipe, wipe...

...and then the innocent look.

...and then the innocent look.

Melt me with that sweet face. You can wipe your beak on that rail any day, Flicker.
