A place with abundant lichen is a place with clean air. Here in Southeast Alaska there are LOTS of different kinds of lichen. Moss and lichen grow on rocks and trees and even grow on cars and boats that sit in one place for awhile.

Some lichens have medicinal properties, and others can be used to make dye. Bullseye lichen sometimes makes happy, and happy is a very valuable commodity.
