Whether sifting through sand, or scrambling over a rocky shore, it's about finding treasures in every day.

Happy Solstice

The sun just clears the mountaintops to the south for the middle of the day. Sunrise at 8:30 and sunset at 3:15 calls for making the best of what daylight there is. After days of heavy overcast the sun came out and people did too.

Kids enjoying the snow.

The kids were having a great time!

There was sledding, too!

Cowabunga!

Release the brakes!

Burial at snow.

This short day was fading then; the sun low enough at 2:30 in the afternoon to cast shadows on the mountains. We live in such a beautiful place.

Happy Solstice Everyone! The days are getting longer now.

P.S. The kid buried in the snow lived to sled another day.
